
LGBTQAI+ therapy
As a queer person, I have been to therapy before that has been painful. I realized that I felt like I needed to leave part of myself at the door of the session because I felt like the therapist wasn’t sure how to proceed about a huge part of my identity. They seemed self conscious and never brought up my marriage again after I mentioned it, or asked about my sexual journey or how my family reacted when I came out. I understand that it’s hard to find a therapist with lived experience or an affirming LGBTQAI+ therapist. I get that sometimes we go to therapy for all sorts of reasons however being LGBTQAI+ is part of our identity and it’s really important to feel comfortable speaking about those parts of ourselves. I want you to feel comfortable and safe bringing all of you into the room.
You feel tired, drained and hopeless. You experience a tremendous amount of stress and worry each day. You would like to process your own sexual or gender journey. You are out to some people but we never really quit coming out, do we? We have to repeatedly decide whether to come out to new coworkers and friends. We worry how will they respond, how will we respond back to them. Will this experience bring back our self doubt and low self esteem?
I am here to help you process these things. Imagine the relief when you have an outside person that is here solely for you. I can help you lower the feelings of stress and worry. We can work on being grounded and present in your life. What would it feel like to be attentive and present, living authentically each day living unapologetically as yourself. I love working with you on always having self compassion and kindness. There is hope for the future to feel calm and relaxed.

My sessions are 50 minutes where you decide what to bring and focus on. I bring curiosity, support and help to empower you to do the difficult work in each session. As a lived therapist, I hope to bring you a safe environment so you will always feel comfortable discussing anything you need. I love to do a variety of things in therapy including art, music, books, mediations, grounding, etc but always at your comfort level. The first few sessions will be more getting to know you sessions which can still be challenging then the work will begin! I do like to have 1-2 months of weekly sessions then we can decide together how frequently we will schedule afterward.
